We all have our own life story of where we have been.
This life story has influenced our health, wellness, and what has landed us to where we are today. In our 20s and 30s, we were focused on our careers, our relationships, our families and building our lives. Our health may have been taken for granted. And then, the carefree lifestyle of our 20s and 30s catches up with us.
Now in our 40s and beyond, we are faced with the reality that we have hit…middle-age.
Our bodies don’t work as well as they used to. From vague annoyances (heartburn, poor sleep, muscle soreness) to more significant disappointments (weight gain, fatigue, diabetes, chronic disease), we can no longer get away with our chaotic nutrition and lifestyle. We are aware of our personal health and wellness. Yet, we are juggling our lifestyle while managing the other demands on our time…juggling our kids, aging parents, struggling relationships, a growing career, and money management. I know this because I am right there juggling with you.
Why Energize Nutrition?
Nutrition is one of the most powerful, yet under-used therapies for our health and wellness. The foods we choose (and don’t choose) have the potential to contribute (or take away from) our body’s functioning right down to our individual cells. The foods we eat, the vitamin, mineral and herbal supplements we use, how we use foods to nourish our stress and emotions, and how we eat gives our body the vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, prebiotics, probiotics, and medicine it needs to be vibrant and well.
Energize Nutrition helps men and women over 40 to launch their nutritional arsenal, promoting their health and vitality, one bite at a time.
Nutrition can be used as a therapy to help with a broad range of health challenges: a lack of energy, unwanted weight gain, digestive problems like heartburn, constipation and bloating, headaches, poor sleep, mental health, emotional eating, arthritis, inflammation, peri-menopause, and of course, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and metabolic syndrome – and more!
Energizing your nutrition will allow you to nourish your body, helping you feel more focused, less foggy, help your clothes fit better, help you feel like your old self again. Nutrition can help connect you to your vitality, fueling your health and wellness for the life you want.
Once you are 40, you don’t need to diet - but you do need to change how you eat. I will help you energize your nutrition to feel youthful, vibrant and well, one bite at a time.
These are our business values:
We strive for excellence and care intensely about our work
We review the latest research to provide evidence-based recommendations. We scan media headlines staying up to date with the latest and greatest in nutrition and wellness.
Whether it is a cooking class, individual coaching or consulting work, we want to leave our clients feeling completely wow’ed and satisfied with the high-quality services they have received.
We remain curious and open-minded to emerging approaches to holistic nutrition and wellness – but not so open-minded that our brain falls out!
There are several approaches for nutrition and wellness. Some approaches work better for some people, while different approaches work better for others. We customize our approach to best fit the needs of our clients.
A one-size fits all never works for anyone. But there are basic nutritional foundations that are valuable for most people.
With the great interest in “alterative” treatments, we value learning about these various approaches and how they might be of value to the people we work with. We remain open – but not so naively open that we base our approaches on pseudoscientific, wishful, magical thinking. We are skilled in separating fact from fiction.
We have an insatiable appetite for learning and improvement
We understand the broad foundations of nutritional science, and can help connect the dots between seemingly unrelated parts of our clients' health and wellness.
We keep our fingers on the pulse of our industry through literature and research reviews, conferences and professional networks.
We are energized through our continual learning, helping us to spread passion in all that we do.
We live it to lead it.
As a busy professional with a partner and 2 active kids, my life and our family’s life is full. We keep nutrition, food preparation, exercise and healthy lifestyles as a core, energy-giving, and mostly non-negotiable in our lives, allowing it to fuel our overly-full lifestyle. Fitting nutrition and wellness in our lives is not always easy! I am not perfect and don’t pretend to be.
We work hard and play harder. Life is about creating amazing memories with special people. Keeping ourselves well allows us to experience what this incredible world has to offer us.
