Garlic lemon yogurt dipping sauce
Need a tasty and versatile dipping sauce for your family? This garlic lemon yogurt dipping sauce can be used in several ways with your meals and/or snacks. Get an extra dose of nutrition when lemon-flavoured yogurt is used as the base for this dip.
- ⅔rd cup lemon yogurt
- ¼ cup light mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp lemon juice and zest
- 1-2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- salt (pinch)
- In a bowl, mix together all ingredients. Add in some lemon juice for zing and vitamin C, fresh dill for flavour and antioxidants, light mayonnaise, Dijon mustard and immune-enhancing garlic for flavour. Top with a pinch of salt.
3 ways to enjoy this dipping sauce:
1) Serve as a dip with vegetables.
My kids especially liked this sauce as a dipper with carrots and snap peas.
2) Crunchy Apple Crab Salad
Enjoy this dip as a salad sauce in this Crunchy Apple Crab Salad.
Crunchy Apple Crab Salad:
Mix together in a bowl:
- 1 pound of crab meat (immitation crab meat works for this, but note that immitation crab meat is a possible source of hidden gluten)
- 1 apple cubed
- 1 stick celery chopped
- ¼ cup frozen peas
- Romaine lettuce, torn up.
Throw this in a jar for a quick grab and go lunch.
3) Salmon sliders
Use as a sauce atop a salmon slider.
